General Facility Use Access

To ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors:

• Youth under 18 must have a liability waiver completed by a parent or guardian before accessing the facility.
• Children 12 years and younger must be directly supervised by an adult at all times while inside the main building.

Fitness Area Access Policy

To ensure a safe and appropriate environment for all users, please review the following age-based access guidelines:

• Infants and children 9 years and younger
  Not permitted in fitness areas.

• Youth ages 10–12
  May access fitness areas only with direct adult supervision.

• Youth ages 13–17
  May use fitness areas unsupervised.
  Participation in our Teens Intro to Strength Training class is strongly recommended for this age group.

Additional Requirements

• Proof of age must be provided upon request.
• Membership photo must be on file for facility access.

Gymnasium Access Policy

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users, please follow these guidelines:

• Children 9 years and younger must be directly supervised by an adult at all times.
• Youth ages 10–17 may use the gymnasium unsupervised.
• Proof of age is required and must be provided upon request.
• All members and guests must check in at the front desk before entering the gymnasium.

Steam Room & Sauna Access

For safety and comfort:

• Children 12 years of age and younger are not permitted in the steam room or sauna.

Facility Regulations

All youth members and youth guests are expected to follow the Bainbridge Island Recreation Center (BIRC) Code of Conduct and adhere to all facility rules and regulations.

These guidelines help ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone.

To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all members and guests, please observe the following guidelines:

Check-In & Membership Use

• All members and guests must check in at the Front Desk before entering the facility.
• Unauthorized use of membership privileges may result in suspension or expulsion, including:
  • Using the facility with an expired membership
  • Allowing someone else to use your membership card
  • Helping guests gain access without purchasing a pass

Equipment Use

• Please observe a 30-minute limit on cardio and strength equipment.
• Allow others to work in between sets; do not sit on equipment if others are waiting.
• Avoid improper use of equipment that could cause damage or injury.

Attire & Safety

• Footwear must cover the entire foot and fasten securely.
  Sandals and open-backed shoes are not permitted.
• Workout attire must include top and bottom coverage throughout the full range of motion.

Behavior & Conduct

• Filming and photography are not permitted in the facility.
• No running, loud behavior, horseplay, or congregating in large groups in fitness areas.
